Seagull Fly By During my last trip to Leslie Spit, we came across, according to the sign, an Environmentally Significant Area. We ventured a little peek at what lied beyond the sign to discover the largest gathering of birds I've ever seen. Without a word of a lie, there were thousands upon thousands of birds. I took a bunch of shots, mostly of seagulls, which dominate the area. Today I'm going to post a bunch of these seagull pics and link them via PhotoTilts link image feature. Give them a look by clicking on the small thumbnail to the right. Im sure by the time your done, your be as sick of seagulls as I am. =) | | Seagull on a poll Yes, I know what a captivating name. Well, there is something interesting in this picture and its not the seagull on the poll. You see all those little white specs that look like litter in the background. Those are actually birds! The picture doesn't show the shear number of birds that were actually around and I'm kicking myself for not taking a wide angle picture of it, but this at least shows some. Also note the city in the background, these birds have a great view don't you think. | | Going down, next stop outdoor living. To me the picture looks calm and peaceful, as the beautiful white birds gracefully makes its slow decent. But pictures can be deceiving. There was little peace in amongst the mayhem of birds. Firstly there was so many birds here the chirping and squawking formed a constant roar, which left a slight ringing in my ears. Every square inch of the ground we littered with droppings, bird corpses or birds themselves. This particular bird was likely not making a peaceful landing at all, more likely he was getting ready to attack a fellow comrade for a scrap of bread. | | Perched Seagull Yet another seagull shot. Hey if you still want even more visit my friends photoblog, he was with me on this wacky adventure he has posted one seagull picture already and he might post more. (Check out SmileTo) | | Seagull in Flight After my experience here, I can safely tell you I hate seagulls. Sure they've always been annoying, but now I know their vicious and dirty creatures too! | | Seagull Landing I really liked this picture; its just a shame that the top portion was clipped. Are we sick of seagull picture yet? I sure had my fill of them. It will be a long while off before I photographic or post another seagull picture. =) | | My, what big wings you have! This particular seagull looks as if he/she is trying to get some personal space. I dont blame him either, in a place this crowed you protect whatever little space you might call your own. | | |
